Enjoy a fun and friendly family walk along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal in Uppermill. Discover local wildlife, beautiful scenery, and fascinating canal history while spending time together outdoors. Suitable for all ages.

Terrain: The route is mostly flat, along good paths. Pram and Wheelchair friendly.

What to Wear & Bring:

• Supportive walking boots or waterproof shoes

• Weather-appropriate layers (woodland areas can feel cooler)

• Sun protection: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen (if warm weather)

• 1.5–2 litres of water

• Packed lunch and snacks

Toilets: Toilets along route at Cafe.

Transport : Nearest train station is Greenfield Train Station

Parking: Free roadside parking.

This event will be led by a BGH trained walk leader. Please note that the leader does not hold a Mountain Leader qualification, and participation is therefore at your own discretion and risk.
